The full form of B. E. is Bachelor of Engineering and it is an undergraduate program of four years. Students who take a B.E. course will gain a theoretical understanding and a deeper understanding of the engineering component of science.

Civil Engineering

The Civil Engineering Department was established in 1971. The goal of civil engineering education is to prepare students to become successful professionals. Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering is a four-year degree. Civil engineers have a bright future both in India as well as worldwide. This is the most diverse engineering branch. Moreover, it helps students find jobs in both the public and commercial sectors.

Mechanical Engineering 

The Mechanical Engineering department was established for the first time in 1962. The department initially had 60 students enrolled. Throughout the past 54 years, the department has expanded rapidly; currently, it can accommodate 180 new students and has a teaching staff of 50 people. The Department of mechanical engineering provides a four-year bachelor’s program as well as master’s degrees in manufacturing science and engineering and computer integrated manufacturing.

Electrical & Electronics Engineering

In 1962, when the institution was initially established, the field of electrical and electronics engineering was established. In the beginning, a four-year bachelor’s degree was offered in this department. It expanded gradually over time and began providing a master’s program in Computer Applications in 2004.

Electronics and Communication Engineering

In 1975, the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) was established to meet the demands of the emerging IT industry. Together with the HOD, the department includes 33 teachers. The department’s primary research topics include wireless communication, VLSI design, and embedded systems, antenna theory, and signal and image processing. The Nation Board of Accreditation granted the department accreditation (NBA). 

Computer Science and Engineering

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) was founded in 1984 with an initial admission of 30 students to the UG program. In the year 2000, the department increased its intake to 120. The faculty has published in refereed journals and conference proceedings. Additionally, the department offers introductory and advanced courses in computer science and programming languages.

Chemical Engineering

The department was founded in 1978 with the admission of 40 students. The number of students admitted was increased to 60 in 2002. In addition to B.E., the department also offers Ph.D. and M. Sc. Engineering (Research). In 2002, VTU designated the department as a Research Centre. The department’s primary research topics include bioremediation, Nano composites, water treatment, and catalysis.

Industrial Engineering & Management

Industrial Engineering and Management was founded in the year 1992. The teachers and employees in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management are highly qualified, driven, and goal-oriented.

The department’s faculty is actively involved in publishing technical papers, planning programmes for faculty development, carrying out financed research projects, and providing consulting services.
